I have known Catherine for over a decade. We first met as edgy teens working in retail and now we continue to be edgy adults but no longer working in retail 😛
Safe to say we have seen each other date the worst and then the best. Tristan is definitely Catherine’s best. So when she asked if I would be the one to photograph their day I felt some emotions!!
Catherine and Tristan’s wedding was held at Meadow Springs Golf and Country Club on a blessedly sunny day. There were a lot of fervent prayers in the lead up as the weather had been less than desirable (read: raining like crazy). But the day dawned bright and blue, saving the rain for the reception when everyone was already safe inside.
Catherine was walked down the aisle by her beloved Grandfather and accompanied by her new stepdaughter Sophie and best friend/frenemy of forever Natalie. Tristan was clearly overcome by emotion seeing his bride, it was so lovely and sweet, you could definitely feel the love. He was accompanied by son Kaleb and Catherine’s brother Josh.
After a sweet and heartfelt ceremony the photo procession began! After all the excited family and the bridal party had been photographed, everyone left to begin enjoying the reception. I highly recommend this to any bride I chat to, not only does it mean that you don’t have everyone watching you, it gives you at least 30 minutes with your new husband/wife to take a breather and realise… you just got married!!!
Meadow Springs provided quite a few lovely spots for photos, and when your couple are making heart eyes at each other constantly, it makes my job very easy ❤
The reception took place inside with a rustic theme and a glorious assortment of dishes served with cupcakes for dessert. Sophie and Kaleb showed off their spectacular dance moves for the guests and even joined their Dad and Stepmum on the dance floor for a slow dance. I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the house!
One of my favourite things about their wedding was the song they chose as their first dance. In it the lyrics say, “you’re never going to be alone, from this moment on” and being there seeing Catherine and Tristan and the kids, a new little family, I knew my friend was never going to be alone, and it filled my heart to the brim.
Congratulations Catherine and Tristan on your special day ❤
